The heart behind Sanctuary

Hi, I’m Jo.
I’m glad you’re here.

I believe everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and cared for—especially during life’s most tender moments.

Sanctuary of Serenity grew from a calling to care for the whole person: body, mind, heart, and spirit. My approach makes room for your story, your beliefs, your questions, and the kind of goodbye that feels meaningful to you.

A circle with room for everyone

Compassion should be within reach.

Our long-term goal is to make care, education and resources available at no cost to as many people as possible, including those who cannot afford to pay. Growing a network of care partners and community support is part of that vision. The Janice “Many Colors” Kelly Fund carries this belief into our end-of-life work today.

Every person’s beliefs and choices are welcome. Spiritual and energy practices are optional. Future clinical or therapeutic services would be provided by appropriately qualified professionals alongside our nonmedical support.

Connect about the vision

A little clarity. A little peace.

Sometimes the first step
is simply finding the words.

A few gentle prompts can help you share what matters with someone you love.

Compassion that reaches further

The Janice “Many Colors”
Kelly Fund

In loving memory of my grandmother, whose love and spirit have inspired me since I was young.

This fund is dedicated to helping individuals and families who cannot afford end-of-life doula services. It carries forward a simple belief: every person deserves dignity, compassion, and someone beside them.

Ask about the fund

Support is subject to available funding. Ask Jo about current assistance and ways to help.

A little understanding helps

It’s okay
to have questions.

You don’t have to know where to start.

What does an end-of-life doula do?

An end-of-life doula offers nonmedical companionship, emotional and spiritual support, education, and practical guidance. Care centers on the wishes of the person who is dying and the people who love them.

Can a doula work alongside hospice?

Yes. Doula support can sit alongside hospice and other professional care. Jo’s role is nonmedical; your healthcare team continues to manage symptoms, medications, and clinical decisions.

Do I need to share a particular spiritual belief?

Every belief, tradition, and worldview is welcome, including having no spiritual practice. Ritual and energy work are always optional. Your wishes guide the care.

Can we talk before there is a crisis?

Absolutely. Planning ahead can begin with a simple conversation about what matters to you. You do not need a diagnosis or a finished plan to start exploring your wishes.

How do care packages and costs work?

Pricing is available during a FREE 30-minute consultation. Care is discussed around your needs. Comprehensive nonmedical doula support can include up to 80 hours. Home funerals and travel beyond one hour from Jo’s home are separate charges. Ask about scope, availability, costs, and the Janice “Many Colors” Kelly Fund before making arrangements.

What if I’m not sure what to ask for?

That is a perfectly good place to begin. Choose “I’m not sure yet” on the inquiry form and share just a little about what brought you here. An inquiry is a starting point, not a booking.
